Sarah Ferguson joined the royal family for their traditional Christmas Day church outing for the first time since the 1990s.
The former royal, 64, known by her nickname Fergie, was joined by her disgraced husband, Prince Andrew at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Norfolk, England on Monday.
Royal watchers were surprised to see Ferguson at the holiday services as she had not been seen at them in decades after separating from Andrew, 63, in 1992.
Despite their divorce, which was finalized in 1996, the duo have remained friendly and even continued to live together at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Also there were the couple’s two daughters with their spouses, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.
The ex-couple also share three grandchildren: Eugenie’s two sons, August, 2, and 7-month-old Ernst, and Beatrice’s 2-year-old daughter, Sienna.
Andrew bowed out of royal life in 2019 due to his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Three years later, his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, stripped him of his military ties and patronages after he gave a disastrous interview defending his friendship with Epstein.
Despite the tawdry association, Fergie has continued to defend and support her ex-husband, calling him a “kind man” and “fabulous” father who has her full support.
More must-see royals coverage:
“Whatever challenges he has, I will stand firm to the co-parenters that we are together,” Ferguson told People in 2021.
“I believe that he’s a kind, good man, and he’s been a fabulous father to the girls.”
The “A Most Intriguing Lady” novelist has not been included in all the royal family’s events this year.
She made headlines in May for being left off the guest list for King Charles III’s coronation.
However, she claimed to have not been irked by the lack of an invitation.
“You can’t have it both ways. You mustn’t sit on the fence. You’re either in or out, but don’t muck around,” she said on “Good Morning Britain” earlier this year.
“I am divorced, and I’m really loving being divorced to my ex-husband — not from my ex-husband, it’s quite a differentiate — and also getting out there as a new novelist.”
It’s been a tumultuous year for the Duchess of York who underwent surgery after being diagnosed with breast cancer, which was discovered during a routine mammogram.
She also began co-hosting a podcast that promised to “spill the tea.”
Ferguson celebrated the holiday by sharing a sweet snap on Instagram of her and her daughters on Christmas Day.
“We are enjoying each other’s company and feeling grateful today,” she captioned the post. “I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Happy Christmas to anyone who celebrates and season’s greetings to all!”
