Taylor Swift shows off white nails at Eras Tour Tokyo concert in honor of 'The Tortured Poets Department' album - Page Six

It’s a white nail occasion.

After surprising fans at the 2024 Grammys on Sunday by announcing a brand-new album, Taylor Swift kicked off the 2024 leg of her Eras Tour in Tokyo sporting an interesting new nail color.

Taking to the stage, Swift showed off short nails painted with bright white polish — a nod to the neutral, black-and-white color scheme she’s chosen to represent the upcoming album, called “The Tortured Poets Department,” which will be released on April 19.

Swift first rocked the white nails on the Grammys red carpet, where she chose a white Schiaparelli corset gown, paired with black opera-length gloves and piles of diamond jewelry, including a watch necklace with the time set to midnight — a nod to her album, “Midnights,” which won the award for album of the year.

Whether she simply didn’t have time to change her manicure or was sending a larger message about the new era on the horizon, the 34-year-old is well-known for providing hints about what she’s working on through her clothing and beauty choices.

Last year, she was often seen wearing a multi-colored manicure on stage, with each nail representing a different album, or era, to keep in theme with the 10-album concert.

Swift also left fans suspicious earlier this year, when she began rocking much longer nails for red carpet appearances and at Kansas City Chiefs games while supporting her boyfriend, Travis Kelce during a break between performances.

Prior to sharing the news about “The Tortured Poets Department,” many assumed Swift was close to announcing the release of her re-recorded “Reputation album, especially since the “…Ready For It?” singer had been favoring outfits that contained both green and black.

Still, it can be assumed we’ll be seeing the blonde bombshell in plenty of black and white ensembles from here on out, keeping in theme with what she wore to the musical awards show on Feb. 4.

Since Sunday, fans have been speculating about what to expect from “The Tortured Poets Department,” a title that many believe is a dig at her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, who once had a group chat titled “The Tortured Men’s Club.”

Plus, with suspicious song titles like “So Long, London” and “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” some are wondering if Swift will be providing some details on what led to their breakup after six years together.

Even the smallest of Swift’s moves will likely be analyzed in the near future, although it’s safe to say that come Sunday, she’ll be back in her red Chiefs gear while cheering on Kelce at the Super Bowl.
