Jimmy Kimmel says George Santos filing a fraud lawsuit against him is 'like getting sued for paternity by Nick Cannon' - Yahoo Entertainment

  • Jimmy Kimmel roasted George Santos after the disgraced politician filed a lawsuit against him.

  • "This is like getting sued for paternity by Nick Cannon," Kimmel said.

  • Cannon has had 12 kids with six different women.

Jimmy Kimmel's getting sued by former Rep. George Santos, and he has thoughts.

The former GOP congressman filed a lawsuit against Kimmel on February 17. He's accused Kimmel of tricking him into making videos on Cameo and claimed the videos were used to ridicule his "gregarious personality."

"He's being represented by the prestigious law firm of Pot, Kettle, and Black and they are seeking $750,000 in damages plus other damages to be determined in court," Kimmel said on Tuesday night episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

"This is so good. This is like getting sued for paternity by Nick Cannon," Kimmel continued, referencing Cannon, a celebrity show host who has fathered 12 children with six different women.

Santos was expelled from Congress on December 1. He faces multiple federal charges, ranging from conspiracy, wire, credit card fraud, and identity theft.

Since leaving Congress, Santos has embarked on a new career — making videos on Cameo, a platform that allows celebrities to record and sell personalized messages to fans. As of press time, Santos is charging $350 per video.

That was when Kimmel started airing a segment on his show called "Will Santos Say It?"

"So we wrote some absolutely ridiculous messages for him to read. We gave them a credit card number, and sure enough, he recorded the messages and sent them back to us," Kimmel said on Tuesday.

Back in December, Kimmel joked that "it would be like a dream come true" if Santos sued him for fraud.

That's happening now, for real.

"I am currently embroiled in what may be the most preposterous lawsuit of all time," Kimmel said in his monologue. "George Santos, a man Republicans kicked out of Congress for being a fraud, is suing me for fraud."
