Kourtney Kardashian hit back at Jimmy Kimmel for describing her impromptu Las Vegas wedding to Travis Barker as “fake.”
“Kourtney, I think you’re the Kardashian of the week this week because you went ahead and got fake married,” the comedian said Wednesday on his late-night show.
Seemingly nonplussed at the use of “fake,” the Poosh founder interrupted, “Well, it’s not called fake married. There was no possibility to get a marriage license at that hour.”
Kardashian, 42, explained that she figured everything in Sin City operated 24/7 but found out the clerk’s office had closed for the evening and would reopen at 8 a.m., so she and Barker, 46, were out of luck.
“We just did it anyway,” she explained. “It’s what is in the heart.”
While none of Kardashian’s family was physically with her for the ceremony, they revealed matriarch Kris Jenner “knew” it was happening and Khloé Kardashian was on FaceTime.
“I was sleeping,” Kim Kardashian admitted. “She put it in the group chat. Like, ‘Oh, hey guys, by the way … I got married last night!’ And I woke up to, like, a million texts.”
Despite a report claiming Kourtney and the Blink-182 drummer tied the knot early Monday after the 2022 Grammys, Page Six broke the news that the nuptials were not legitimate because they had gone through with the ceremony without a license.
Kourtney later confirmed the illegitimate wedding with photos of the seemingly sloppy affair that took place after “a little tequila.”
“Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license),” she wrote on Instagram, adding, “Practice makes perfect.”
Kourtney and Barker went public with their relationship in January 2021 and got engaged in October.
The reality star shares three children with ex Scott Disick, while the musician has two kids with ex-wife Shanna Moakler.
