Bravo on the new baby!
TV honcho Andy Cohen has welcomed a little girl to his growing brood, announcing the birth of his daughter Lucy via surrogate on Friday.
“HERE’S LUCY!!!!! Meet my daughter, Lucy Eve Cohen!” the Bravo host captioned an Instagram photo of himself at the hospital holding his newborn.
“She’s 8 pounds 13 oz and was born at 5:13 pm in New York City!!! Her big brother can’t wait to meet her!”
This is Cohen’s second child. He welcomed son Benjamin Allen via surrogate in 2019.
“Thank you to my rock star surrogate (ALL surrogates are rockstars, by the way) and everyone who helped make this miracle happen,” his post continued. “I’m so happy.”
Cohen’s Bravo family and a host of his famous pals immediately took to the comments to congratulate him on his new addition.
“Amazing ❤️ Congratulations Andy,” “RHONY” star Eboni K. Williams wrote, while “Southern Charm” star Craig Conover added, “Andy!! You sure know how to fill everyone’s hearts up with love don’t you.”
“Amazing! Congratulations! Welcome Lucy!!!!” Anderson Cooper wrote.
Khloé Kardashian said, “Congratulations!!!!! How wonderful and blessed is your family!!! May God bless you all!! ❤️❤️❤️”
And Cohen’s pal John Mayer commented, “Hello sweet girl! ♥️ congrats Andy!” and joked, “Doing her star chart right now!!!”
The “Watch What Happens Live,” host opened up on air in 2018, saying, “Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something I’ve wanted in my heart for my entire life. While it has taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be my most rewarding chapter yet.”
Cohen said back in August that he wanted to add another child to the family.
“You know, I’m working on it,” he told E! News. “It turns out it takes a long time to make a baby. I’m definitely open to it and I would love to see it happen soon.”
Being a father was something he previously admitted he never thought could happen for him.
“When I came out to my parents in 1988, my mom said she had to mourn the life that I wasn’t going to be able to have,” he told People in 2019. “And that life meant getting married and having kids … So all these years later, gay men are raising families and getting married.
“There were points where I thought that it was too late for me or that I was really focused on my career, and I was having too much fun to think about it. It was still there nagging at me in the back of my head.”
