The Watches Of The Golden Globe 2024 - HODINKEE

Last night, the 2024 Golden Globes were broadcast on CBS for the first time in – um – a long time. The result was an evening far less loose and drunk than awards past, and the jokes from first-time host Jo Koy weren't necessarily hitting (cut to Taylor Swift's champagne sip).

But despite a bit of dryness, the stars came out this year for a lineup, across movies and television, that was packed to the brim. From Barbie to Oppenheimer to Killers of the Flower Moon to Anatomy of – alright you get the idea, this was a memorable movie year. And the results last night were somewhat surprising and added intrigue as we make our way to the Academy Awards in March.

As usual, though, it wasn't so much about the show that caught our attention as it was the watches on the wrists of the star-studded guest list of said show. And to be honest, the actual nominees were quickly overshadowed by one Will Ferrell, who took to the red carpet with a certain horological zest, showing off his No Time To Die Omega Seamaster Diver 300m as if to compete with Conan O'Brien. Ferrell, to his credit, had the Bond get up to complement the watch.

Speaking of Omega, the brand had quite the showing at this year's show. And while these red carpet affairs are no doubt opportunities for product placement and professional styling, there was no shortage of cool personal timepieces (we're looking at you, Harrison Ford).
