Aaron Rodgers and fiancée Shailene Woodley‘s romance is that “can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, World Series” — well, Super Bowl kind of love.
From Disney World trips to Hawaiian adventures, here’s a complete timeline of the Green Bay Packers quarterback’s relationship with the “Divergent” actress.
Relationship buzz
In February 2021, reports began to circulate that Rodgers — who previously dated Olivia Munn — was seeing Woodley.
“They have seen each other and been in touch,” an insider told E! News at the time. “They continue to talk and see each other when they can. They are both focused on their careers but they also make time for each other.”
Whispers about the couple, however, began as early as July 2020, following Rodgers’ split from Danica Patrick after two years of dating. In October of that year, sports site Awesemo.com reported spotting Woodley in Green Bay.
Surprise engagement
In the hours leading up to Super Bowl LV in February 2021, Rodgers accepted the NFL’s MVP award for the 2020 season. The quarterback stunned audiences at home by revealing he was engaged in his speech.
“2020 was definitely a crazy year, filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing memorable moments. 180 straight days of having my nose hairs scraped. Playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season. I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career,” Rodgers said.
Although Rodgers did not specify the name of his fiancée at the time, Woodley was confirmed to be the future Mrs. Rodgers days later.
Revealing the ring
During a February 2021 appearance on “The Tonight Show,” Woodley spoke about her engagement to Rodgers for the first time.
“For us, it’s not new news, so it’s kind of funny everybody right now is freaking out over it,” the “Big Little Lies” star said at the time. “We’re like, ‘Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while.’”
While chatting with “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon, Woodley also gave fans a glimpse of her engagement ring, which appears to feature a large round center stone.
“He’s, first off, just a wonderful, incredible human being, but I never thought I’d be engaged to someone who threw balls for a living,” Woodley said of the 6’2″ quarterback, who has been part of the Packers franchise for 16 seasons.
Jet-sets and ‘Jeopardy!’
In April 2021, Rodgers — a noted “Star Wars” fan — visited Walt Disney World with Woodley in Florida, where the couple rocked face masks referencing the franchise.
The duo also took part in a Q&A for the “Walt Disney World Minute,” with Rodgers revealing that he enjoys “cuddle time” with Woodley the most.
Later that month, Rodgers appeared as a guest host on “Jeopardy!” and received ample support from his favorite fan.
“This guy is hosting ‘Jeopardy!’ tonight. So, you could watch it and you should watch it,” Woodley gushed at the time.
Rodgers hosted the beloved quiz show for two weeks.
Packers problems
Ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft, reports emerged that Rodgers wanted out of Green Bay. In May 2021, Rodgers spoke about the franchise in a “SportsCenter” interview with Kenny Mayne.
“With my situation, look, it’s never been about the draft pick, picking [now second-year quarterback] Jordan [Love],” Rodgers said. “I love Jordan; he’s a great kid. [We’ve had] a lot of fun to work together. Love the coaching staff, love my teammates, love the fan base in Green Bay. An incredible 16 years.”
Rodgers continued, “It’s just kind of about a philosophy and maybe forgetting that it is about the people that make the thing go. It’s about character, it’s about culture, it’s about doing things the right way.”
Hello, Hawaii
Rodgers and Woodley escaped the NFL drama in May 2021 by jetting to Hawaii, where they enjoyed sunset dates and outdoor adventures with pal Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Sperry.
Sperry, who married Teller in 2019, shared a clip of Rodgers singing a Taylor Swift tune during the couple’s getaway. Rodgers and Woodley’s vacation also meant that he skipped out on the Packers’ voluntary organized team activities.
Earlier in the month, Rodgers and Woodley joined Teller and Sperry at the 2021 Kentucky Derby, donning the requisite large hats for the occasion.
